Female to fight on Police card
October 17 featuring boxers from a Massachusetts sheriff's department.
And fight fans are likely to see a local woman in the ring for the first time.
WPc Meredith Brady is slated to box a visiting female in what will be her first fight. Brady has wanted to fight on previous cards but until now no opponents have stepped forward.
Chairman of the Police boxing section, Craig Morfitt said Franklin County Sheriff, Fred MacDonald had established ties with local police recently to organise the fight night.
MacDonald is a former Massachusetts state trooper, many of whom have boxed in Bermuda previously and hosted cards in Boston.
Barring injury, the local policemen on the card will be Jeff Baron, Ian Jamieson and Nick Pedro, as well as prison officer Clyde Wilson.
Morfitt noted he was looking for other non-police boxers to fight on the card and asks that anyone interested contact him at 299-4275.
