The deadline to apply for a scholarship worth up to $5,000 is almost here for Bermudians living in Devonshire.Friday is the final day for students to submit their applications for the Devonshire Parish Council Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship.To qualify, applicants must be Bermudian and have resided in Devonshire for at least five years.The scholarship is awarded annually for undergraduate and graduate study at an approved university or college.Preference is given to applicants with strong academic credentials and who can demonstrate financial need.Naomi Daniel, current chair for the scholarship committee of the Devonshire Parish Council, said: “We put about 40 application forms at the Devonshire post office, and they were all picked up for both the graduate and undergraduates.“People were going to the post office and asking about it, and they collected the forms. The email [address] is monitored, so if someone wanted the application it will be sent out right away.”The Devonshire Parish Council is asking all applicants to request and submit applications to the scholarship committee e-mail address, which is: dpcscholarship@gmail.com
