A malicious and cruel act

LeYoni Junos at her home, from which she was evicted earlier this month.

December 15, 2011Dear Sir,I do not often agree with Diana Williams but I agree one hundred percent with her letter of Tuesday, December 13. Eviction is one thing, but was it actually legal for them to destroy her belongings? Legal or not, this Country has had such a struggle to achieve some semblance of fairness and justice that I find it both depressing and incomprehensible that there were several black truckers to do something so malicious and cruel! It is unfortunate that Ms Junos did not try to move her mortgage when she won her case of unfair dismissal. The sixty/forty rule was suspended for HSBC. I have often wondered how the quality of life for Bermudians has improved as a result. Perhaps Sir John Swan and Larry Burchall can tell me.Anyone who thinks that the destruction of her things was unnecessarily vicious and evil might consider making a contribution to a fund at the Bank of Butterfield, if only ten dollars. Christmas is as good a time as any for giving.EVA N HODGSONHamilton Parish
