Land tax deadline extend
Government has extended the deadline for pensioners to hand in their land tax renewal forms.
The forms must now be in by the end of this month.
Government yesterday said the extension was made to compensate for a late mailing. The forms were to be mailed two weeks ago but a delay in the enveloping and mailing resulted in some pensioners only receiving the forms this week.
The Land Tax Renewal Forms are sent out to pensioners by the Office of the Tax Commissioner every two years.
Acting Finance Minister Walter Lister said the initial deadline was November 19. He said that having pensioners renew the forms every two years was just a formality designed to help keep the files up-to-date.
Pensioners are encouraged to complete and return the form by the new deadline, or as soon as possible afterwards.
