Jenson Bascome was named Most Valuable Player after the first Youth All-Star game played on Saturday at BAA gymnasium.
Bascome sunk the winning basket with just three seconds remaining to give the West a 56-54 victory over the East. He had 13 points in total, one more than team-mate Bayon Robinson. Lloyd Peterkin was high scorer for the East with 19 points.
Meanwhile, in the Premier Division on Sunday, Twisters capped their undefeated season with a 94-82 victory over Young Guns.
Twisters point guard Matt O'Reilly was ejected in the second half but Kit Mueller and John Leone controlled the offensive boards. Mueller finished with 35 points and was then voted Premier Division MVP. Young Guns' Kevin Stovell and Rocky Fox finished with 21 points each.
La Com Scan Re completed their regular season on a bright note, defeating Sea Venture 42-32 in the finals of the Adult Recreation Division. Dave Eklund led La Com with 15 points while Larry Burgess of Sea Venture finished with 14.
TRIATHLON TRI The Snickers Sprint Triathlon, scheduled for Sunday at the USNAS in St.
David's, has been postponed following damage to part of the course caused by Hurricane Felix.
The event is expected to be rescheduled sometime in October.
ROAD RUNNING RUN The annual five mile Labour Day road race is scheduled for next Monday, starting from the TCD building on North Street.
Organised by Swan's Running Club and sponsored by the Co-op supermarket, the event gets underway at 9.00 a.m. Entry forms are available from the usual outlets.
SOCCER SOC There will be a training session for all Dandy Stars players this evening at 6.00 at Gymnasium field.
