Some clamping might be okay
6 May 2014
Dear Sir,
Clamping in certain areas of Hamilton might be okay as the last thing you need is somebody parking in a one hour parking bay for more than one hour and getting away with it (in such a case as this, I think it’s okay that vehicle gets clamped).
But in an area such as the hospital (which is actually located in Paget and doesn’t necessarily have one hour parking listed, unless there’s been changes recently), there shouldn’t be any clamping allowed.
The hospital isn’t a part of Hamilton so that clamping thing shouldn’t be allowed. It shouldn’t be allowed at Saltus, Victor Scott or even Dellwood/CedarBridge as they’re not located in the heart of Hamilton. Only places within the city limits are affected (including MSA).
The Corporation of Hamilton should be held accountable if they’ve had people clamped in other areas without a police security officer instructing them to go ahead and clamp such a vehicle.
If the incident happens by Supermart in the parking lot and come to find out a woman (or man) decided to just ‘stay’ in the bay for a long amount of time (basically going past the allotted time without a parking sticker), she (or he) should get clamped (it’s a one hour parking bay.....d-uh!).
Regarding that guy at the hospital in the reserved parking bay, although it might’ve been wrong for him to be parked there, this guy shouldn’t get clamped either.
