Date set for Bascome funeral
The late Nelson Bascome will be honoured with an official funeral next Thursday.
The service for the 53-year-old Health Minister, who died suddenly of a heart attack in the US on Tuesday, will take place at 2 p.m. at the Anglican Cathedral in Hamilton.
The day before (Wednesday, July 22), MPs and senators will have chance to pay tribute to the PLP member for constituency 16 at a joint sitting of the Legislature at the House of Assembly between 10 a.m. and noon.
The Cabinet Office said yesterday that all Government flags would continue to fly at half mast until the funeral. Members of the public wishing to pay personal tribute to Mr. Bascome can sign a condolence book between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. each weekday until Wednesday.
Further announcements are to follow about the public viewing of the body and the route of the funeral procession, which will involve Bermuda Regiment.
