A teenager was today jailed for 12 years for killing 18-year-old Kellon Hill.

Kellan Lewis, 18, was found guilty of manslaughter in March.

He had originally faced a charge of murdering Mr. Hill by stabbing him with a knife when a fight broke out an Elbow Beach party on the evening of August 9, 2008.

He was cleared of the murder charge by the jury who heard his trial, but convicted of the lesser offence of manslaughter and possessing a knife in public.

Sentencing Lewis of Peacock Crescent, Sandys, today, Chief Justice Richard Ground said: “You took a knife to a teenage party and this is the sort of thing that happens when people do that. The evidence is that you instigated the incident which led to the stabbing by snatching Mr. Hill’s chain. I think that the prosecution’s characterisation of your behaviour throughout that evening as bullying and aggressive is a fair one.”
