Man caught in high-speed chase

The man, riding a motorcycle, had been seen to swerve sharply into Elliott Street after he spotted a Police officer.He was signalled to stop but he continued on, accelerating onto King Street,

through Pembroke at 2.30 p.m.

The man, riding a motorcycle, had been seen to swerve sharply into Elliott Street after he spotted a Police officer.

He was signalled to stop but he continued on, accelerating onto King Street, through Curving Avenue and eventually onto Factory Lane near Marsh Folly Road.

At this point the rider lost control of the bike and fell to the ground. He began to lash out and was subdued after back-up arrived. He was taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained.

MAN BEATEN OUTSIDE NIGHTCLUB CRM Man beaten outside nightclub A Paget man was badly injured after he was brutally assaulted by two thugs outside Oasis nightclub in Hamilton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police found the 27-year-old lying unconscious in the car park opposite the Front Street club after the two attackers had repeatedly kicked him about the head.

He was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for his injuries, which included bruising and cuts to the face, head, neck and back, but was later released.

A 35-year-old and a 25-year-old were later arrested and taken to St George's Police Station for questioning.

ROBBER TO BE SENTENCED CTS Robber to be sentenced A robber will be sentenced in April after pleading guilty at Supreme Court to robbing a store last year.

A social enquiry report and psychiatric assessment will be done on Calvin Leonard Richardson, 31, whose address was given as Westgate Prison.

Acting Chief Justice Norma Wade-Miller agreed to the request from defence lawyer Mark Telemaque that sentence be deferred until the reports were prepared.

THIEVES REMOVE POWER TOOLS CRM Thieves remove power tools Police are investigating the theft of power tools and construction equipment from a Church Street building site.

Two complainants reported that four power tools were removed from their containers some time in the last week including a Rotomite saw, a Black & Decker reciprocating hammer and a Milwaukee rotary hammer. Although some of the items were not secured in their cases, there were signs of forced entry into one of them.
