Rams reign in the rain
While most teams sat out the weekend due to waterlogged pitches, North Village Rams leapt to third place in the Commercial A division after beating St. George?s All-Stars 4-1.
All-Stars, who remain winless in the league, found the net courtesy of Cal Raynor but were steamrollered by Rams with Tillman Darrell grabbing two and Ross Lambe and Richard Hill one each.
Valley needed to beat fellow strugglers Tuff Dogs to muster hopes of staving off relegation but could only manage a 2-2 draw.
Tuff Dogs? Carlos Lopes twice put his side ahead only for Roger Hall and Kevin Isaac to level.
In the B Division, second-placed Hamilton Parish blew a golden opportunity to catch leaders Island XI on Saturday after sticking three past Boulevard at Shelly Bay before half time.
Irving Burgess grabbed two and Alvin Baker got one but Boulevard were revitalised after the break as sub Mark Woods, who has a wealth of Premier league experience, came on and started pulling strings in midfield.
Cleve Rogers grabbed two goals and Terrance Stovell one to earn Boulevard a point.
Fourth-placed Prospect/Fire are chasing hard on the heels of Vasco after an easy win over Pest Control. Prospect/Fire blew a hatful of chances but Dean Martin, Rupert Knight and Errol Peterkin managed to get on the scoresheet.
In the C Division Dandy Town Roots C picked up a walk-over win against Prison Officers who failed to show up at their home pitch at Malabar.
Somerset Extros could also have claimed three points against a short-handed Wolves side but a midweek fixture is likely to be arranged.
