Heroin dealer faces sentencing

Takiya Rabain, 23, of Somersall Road home could be sentenced to life in prison after a majority verdict in Supreme Court in February found her guilty of possession with intent to supply.
The sentencing had been set down for yesterday but was adjourned until today as her lawyer Mark Pettingill was off the Island.

Nicholas McGavern, from Turnstyle Lane, Pembroke, was caught speeding at 61 kph on Crow Lane, Pembroke in September.
It was then found he had no driver's licence.
McGavern pleaded guilty to both offences. Mr. King said: "Eight times you didn't have a driving licence? Do you have it on you now? The defendant said: "Not on me.'' Asked where it was McGavern replied: "I could not tell you.'' McGavern's last conviction for not having a licence was in January this year when he paid a fine of $200.
Mr. King said: "You could go into the Bermuda Guinness Book of Records. I have never met anyone with eight.'' McGavern was fined $300 for not having a driver's licence and $230 for speeding.
