Minister warns of fake Covid information

The Minister of Health has warned the public to be wary of false information on social media about Covid-19

Kim Wilson said that the Government was aware of a fake e-mail image claiming to be from the Department of Health claiming that a stay at home order had been made.

Ms Wilson said: “This image is clearly false. The public is urged not to forward messages that are not credible.

“Official information from the Government is always shared through a press conference or a press release.”

Government updates are available online at coronavirus.gov.bm, the Government’s Facebook page, Twitter account, Instagram page and the TreeFrog app.

The public can also receive Government updates on WhatsApp by sending a message saying “hi” to 504-6045 on the app.
