Top lawyer named in HRC complaint
Rights' Commission after an alleged altercation at the Reefs Hotel.
The complaint, which also names Shadow Tourism Minister and Reefs' owner David Dodwell, alleges Mr. Dunch, a director of the hotel, threatened bartender Rudy Barclay's job following an incident on the night of December 11.
It is also believed the complainant alleges Mr. Dunch made abusive and insulting words towards him during the incident.
Mr. Dodwell is understood to be included in the complaint for failing to protect his employee from the alleged harassment. Mr. Barclay is also understood to have filed a complaint against Mr. Dunch with the Police.
A Police spokesperson said yesterday that detectives were investigating "a report of an incident which is alleged to have taken place at the Reefs Hotel on December 11''.
Representatives from the HRC refused to confirm a complaint had been filed. It is HRC policy not to comment on individual cases.
However, BIU president and Government MP Derrick Burgess said he was fully aware of and monitoring the case.
Mr. Barclay is still employed by the Reefs.
Mr. Dunch did not return calls from The Royal Gazette . And Reefs' general manager Neal Stephens and Mr. Dodwell declined comment.
