Bermuda Hogges skipper Antwan Russell believes his side are hitting their stride at the right time as they prepare for life after their season-ending match against Westchester Flames at BAA Field tomorrow.Later this month the Under-20 national team head to Puerto Rico for World Cup qualifiers while the senior side travel to Cayman Islands in August for the Digicel Caribbean Cup.Although Hogges are second from bottom of the Premier Development League (PDL) they have won their last two matches, both on home soil, and will look to end the season on a high.The team continued their end of season recovery after a lengthy losing streak with a second successive victory against Baltimore Bohemians last Sunday.Three days after defeating Long Island Rough Riders in their first home win of the campaign, Hogges claimed Bohemians’ scalp in an equally impressive fashion at BAA Field.They can finish just one point shy of last season’s best-ever total should they beat the Flames in tomorrow’s curtain call.Russell says the club are hitting their peak at the right time heading into a busy off-season.“We are playing our style of football and by doing so we will win a lot of games,” said Russell. “If we would have had this team all season we would have done much better.“The biggest difference is the players who are in the fold now and also the mentality and mindset of the players to go out and win.”Missing from the squad for various periods of time were Darius Cox, Seion Darrell, Keishen Bean and John Barry Nusum, and all apart from Nusum have been involved in their recent resurgence.With the squad at full strength, the visitors will be hard pressed to beat the in-form side, said the captain.“The likes of Keishen, Seion and Darius have helped us in recent games and this means a lot to us given the bigger picture we are shooting for in terms of other competitions.“Winning breeds confidence so we are on the right track as far as our mindset is concerned. We always knew we were good players but now we are really starting to see how good we are when we put our heads down and get to work.”Kick off at BAA Field is set for 5pm.
