BELCO issues kite warning

BELCO have sent out a warning to kite flyers — stay away from power lines.
Kites that get tangled around power lines could caused outages and they could also be dangerous.
“If your kite gets tangled in power lines, do not attempt to remove it,” said a BELCO spokesperson. “Instead, please call 955, so that a BELCO crew can be dispatched to remove it safely.
“Power outages should also be phoned in to 955.
“BELCO thanks the community for their cooperation in flying kites safely, and extends best wishes for a happy Easter weekend.”
