A Smith’s woman who crashed her car on Middle Road was yesterday banned from driving for a year.Crown counsel Garrett Byrne told Magistrates’ Court that at around 2.40am on Saturday police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision in Devonshire.When officers arrived at the scene they saw 19-year-old Alexis Richens standing near the damaged vehicle. Officers noticed her eyes were bloodshot and her breath smelled of alcohol. She told the officers she had been driving the vehicle and admitted having two drinks that evening.Richens pleaded guilty to one count of driving while impaired by alcohol.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined Richens $1,000 and banned her from driving all vehicles for 12 months.
