Clearwater pupils write about love
Two teachers, Sarah McHugh and Anthony Crichlow, teach English and art respectively. Ms McHugh takes a slightly different approach to literature than most English teachers.
She allows her students to incorporate art into their writing assignments by doing sketches to depict their writings.
Mr. Crichlow remarked: "It is amazing what you can accomplish with my art students. Some produce exceptional work. We have talent here.'' Another teacher, Shawnette Somner, contributed a poem entitled, "Adolescence'' .
Love is like jello Love is like jello -smooth and soft but wiggly and messy at times. Love is chocolate on a hot day. It melts your heart. Love is like a cool breeze on a hot day. It can sweep you away and bring a smile to your face. Love is like everything happy, soft, bumpy - all in one.
BY DMITRI BUTTERFIELD -- M3 Clearwater Love is like a flower Love is like a flower. One day it is blooming gracefully. The next day it's not. So be careful with the one you fall in love with because love doesn't last forever.
BY RENEE ARMSTRONG -M3 Clearwater Middle School Thinking of love Love is meeting a girl at a hall and not wanting to go home or wanting the dance to end.
Then you go home and you can't stop thinking about her. So you do something to get your mind off of the girl and later when you're tired after being out, you start thinking about this girl again.
While you're sleeping you wake up and you can't go back to sleep so you get out of bed, wash your face, and call this girl and ask her out! BY CLARKE SHOWERS -M3 Clearwater Middle School Love is feeling... Love is feeling strongly about something or someone. You desire to see them or that certain thing everyday. Love is a feeling that you cannot describe but you know when love is there in your heart. You can love people or things because of their qualities. If you loved a person you could love them because of what they do, who they are, how they talk, how they act, their personality and other things that stand out in that certain person.
Love is an undescribable feeling.
DELYONE BORDEN - M3 Clearwater Middle School Adolescence When I look into the mirror There's a person that I see A person who is special Growing to be uniquely me! (The questions never stop) About my odd-shaped body From the bottom to the top.
My feet are long and clumsy My legs are like two poles My upper body's either shapely or developing some rolls! My skin - it looks discolored And the pimples are erupting My strange outward appearance to my social life is disrupting.
The opposite sex is checking me out but I feel so out of place I want the world to notice me yet I wish I could hide my face.
Whether I'm a boy or girl What's keeping me in suspense is all the unknown mystery behind this time called adolescence.
By: Mrs. Shawnette Somner, M3 English Teacher at Clearwater Middle School Love is invisible Love is invisible. You can't see the love that you give to someone like you can't see the love that you give towards your mother, father, brother, sister, grandma, and grandpa. But even if you can't see love you would still be able to feel it because of the way someone treats you or acts towards you.
