Hotel offering a full slate of summer activities

There’s no chance of Bermuda being called boring this summer when you see the entertainment options on offer at The Fairmont Southampton resort.But the Fairmont Southampton is bucking the trend by proving that “Bermuda isn’t dead from an entertainment standpoint”. The hotel’s ‘Sizzling Summer’ programme is being promoted as “exciting, entertaining, interesting and varied”.The Fairmont wanted to do that something a little different to grab people’s attention and keep them entertained. Locals are permitted to join in with many of the events, at a small cost.The Monday programme of events includes discovering scuba diving, a fitness walk to Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, and a family beach bonfire with limbo and hula competitions. On Tuesdays, children are given a keep-fit lesson and adults can learn how to ‘cook like a chef’. In the evening a Bermuda island barbecue, movies under the stars.A nature scavenger hunt, beach water games, music videos for teens and a chocolate extravaganza is on the menu on Wednesdays. There’s no let up in the schedule on Thursday as the fun continues with Pilates, volleyball, and glow-in-the-dark golf.On Fridays, hotel guests can learn about the plight of the Bermuda cedar and help plant a seedling, go fishing off ‘de rocks’; teens can play Nintendo Wii on the big screen.
