An artist has donated two paintings to help support families in need.
Diane Maughan, known as Dyan, has donated two acrylic paintings that will go under the hammer in aid of the Family Centre.
Sandy DeSilva, executive director at the charity, said: “Family Centre is thrilled to be a recipient of the proceeds from Dyan’s lovely works of art. The paintings are truly beautiful, and we are proud to have been selected by Diane to receive the funds from the auction of these lovely works of art.”
Funds received from the sale of the two original pieces will go towards Family Centre therapeutic programmes and services for vulnerable children and families in Bermuda.
One is titled The Giant White Bird of Paradise and is 16“ by 20”.
Ms Maughan said: “The Giant White Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia nicolai) can grow to over six feet tall and grows in various places in Bermuda. A huge dramatic bloom emerges throughout the huge, towering leaves.”
The second piece is titled The Spirit of Motherhood and is the same size.
Ms Maughan added: “A mother knows and feels the deep love she has within her for her child, hoping and praying that with Faith and nurturing the child will become a wonderful healthy, happy and wise adult.”
