"I'll be very honest with you -- I smoke cannabis,'' said Charles Forbes.

"But I'm not dangerous to anyone else with it.'' Forbes, 45, was found with just over two grammes of cannabis in his possession after he was arrested on another matter, prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said.

Police officers discovered the drugs during a search at Hamilton Police Station on August 15.

Senior Magistrate, the Wor. Will Francis fined Forbes $250.

Women assaulted.

A 24-year-old man who admitted entering the house of a woman during the night and assaulting her and her friend was this week given a suspended prison sentence by Senior Magistrate the Wor. William Francis.

Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy told Magistrates' Court on Friday that Police officers answered a call at the house of Wendy Taylor in Pembroke at 1.30 a.m.

on September 28.

She told Police that Michael Divonne Albouy of Friswell's Hill, Pembroke entered the house through an unlocked door brandishing a twelve-inch metal pipe. After an argument he pushed Taylor to the ground.

Her friend, Zoe Roberts, tried to restrain Albouy but he pushed her away before kicking Taylor in the face.

"I apologise to Wendy and her friend,'' Albouy told the court yesterday. He said the attack had arisen out of a longstanding argument with the victim.

The Senior Magistrate sentenced Albouy to three months in prison, suspended for one year.

"This kind of assault on a lady is just not tolerable,'' he said.

JUDGMENT DELAYED CTS Judgment delayed The reading of a judgment in a trial concerning a British Policeman accused of sexually assaulting a woman was adjourned on Friday.

The man, who denies breaking into the home of the woman on July 25 last year and sexually assaulting her, will have to wait until tomorrow when Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp returns to work, to hear the decision of the court.

DIVORCE GRANTED DIV Divorce granted The Supreme Court has granted a decree of divorce to Mrs. Susan Mary Hamza from Dr. Mohamed Suleiman Hamza.

Puisne Judge the Wor. Mrs. Justice Wade granted the defended divorce in a 45-page judgment. She heard the dispute earlier this year, in a hearing that lasted 13 days.
