Smith’s Parish man charged with growing cannabisA Smith’s man has been accused of growing cannabis, and possession with intent to supply.John David Aguiar, 46, denied the charges in Magistrates’ Court, along with possession of a grinder used as drug equipment.According to Crown counsel Cindy Clarke, Mr Aguiar is charged with cultivating five plants and having 87.9 grams of cannabis with a street value of $4,375.All three charges date to December 31, in Smith’s.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner granted bail of $10,000 on surety and adjourned his trial until June 23.Woman denies stealing from Butterfield BankA 54-year-old Pembroke woman yesterday denied stealing nearly $25,000 in cash from Butterfield Bank.Sandra Smith, of Border Lane, was charged in Magistrates’ Court with stealing $24,337 from the bank in November.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Ms Smith on $5,000 bail.
