The Anglican Church announced that the Rev. John Roberts is to take over in Paget.
The move ends 18 months of controversy over who would become parish priest in Paget -- and leaves Bermudian Father William Hayward still without a parish.
Bishop Ewen Ratteray said last night: "I can't predict how people might feel on that score, except to say the people of Paget will very relieved that it's been resolved.'' He added: "I don't really want to get to stirring up anything -- we have had enough.
"The whole process has taken a very long time and we now need to move ahead and get on with the job which needs to be done.'' Mr. Roberts, 54, who is married and has two sons, is currently a vicar in Lancashire.
