Great debut for Goater

English newspaper called a "cracking goa'' against Gillingham but unfortunately for the Robins they finished 3-2 losers in their season opener on Saturday.

The Second Division fixture was decided by a winning goal by Gillingham in the last seconds of the match, robbing City after they had come from 1-0 down at half time to take the lead in the 79th minute.

After going behind in the 13th minute, City equalised in the 59th minute when Goater scored with a low drive after turning past a Gillingham defender.

City then took the lead 11 minutes from time only to see Gillingham strike twice in the last eight minutes to snatch all three points.

Goater's former team, Rotherham, drew 1-1 at Walsall, the team of another Bermudian striker Kyle Lightbourne.

Tonight City are away to Torquay in the first round, first leg of the Coca Cola Cup while Walsall entertain Watford.
