Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty launches recruitment drive

Bermuda’s largest real estate company has launched a recruiting drive for agents.

Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty said it welcomes applications from experienced real estate agents, as well as individuals willing to earn a license to sell real estate.

CBBR said the company tops all real estate outfits on-island in agent count, units sold, and closed sales volume.

The company, established in 1953, said it has created an orientation-training curriculum, which is available to new recruits and existing agents who wish a refresher from time to time, and is delivered by its senior management team.

Brian Madeiros, president and chief executive officer, said: “Mentoring makes a significant difference. It takes passion, discipline and commitment to become a top producing agent. I recognise if I spend time mentoring team members who have an innate desire to succeed, this investment in time pays rewards as agents become more confident which ultimately makes a full-time career in real estate easier to navigate. ”

Susan Thompson, agency manager, said the real estate sales and marketing process can be quite complex for new recruits.

She added: “Having in-house resources for guidance, and tapping into their unique talent and skills is paramount for their professional and personal growth, the process starts way before ‘recruiting’; it starts by nurturing relationships with those who are interested in exploring a real estate career before they even register for the real estate exam.”

Ms Thompson said those preliminary conversations are a useful starting point, adding: “There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a new recruit blossoming into a successful, highly regarded agent.”

The firm said agents will represent home sellers and work with buyers in real estate transactions. This will include educating the seller about the market, pricing the property, managing the marketing of the listing, negotiation with potential buyers, coordinating with third party entities, and managing transaction paperwork.

Additionally, agents will perform strategic prospecting methods to find new clients and customers who are interested in selling or buying real estate.

The firm said the job suits people who are organised, disciplined, and tired of the nine-to-five grind, working for others, and being stuck in an office.

CBBR said it provides agents with access to the industry’s leading technology as well as sales training.

The firm said an agent’s responsibilities include prospect and lead generation through in-person meetings, phone calls, digital media, open houses, and more; representing sellers and working with buyers from start and close real estate transactions; fostering client relationships; and negotiating sale and purchase agreements, managing client issues, and coordinating with third party entities.

CBBR said qualifications include being an active real estate agent or having the will to obtain a license; self-disciplined and motivated person with a willingness to learn and excel in their field; a great communicator who loves working with people; have an entrepreneurial mindset with an appetite for learning new skills; be optimistic, hard-working, detail-oriented, and comfortable with technology; have an extensive “sphere of influence”; and be dedicated to networking, making presentations, and using tools.

The firm said real estate agents are independent contractors who are not provided a salary or hourly wage. It added that an agent’s income potential “has no limit”.

CBBR said its services include global luxury marketing and sales, residential marketing and sales, residential rentals, international sales, vacation rentals, and fractional sales.
