yesterday announced details about this year's Concert in the Park series.

"Bring your family and friends to enjoy exciting entertainment,'' the bank's executive vice president, Personnel and Administration Mr. Victor Garcia said.

"These seven concerts cover a wide variety of musical talents and interests, featuring both local and international performers.'' For the third consecutive year, the series of free, Sunday outdoor concerts will be held in Victoria Park, incorporating as their themes, "Strictly Gospel'', "Youth to Youth'', "An Ethnic Celebration'', "Rock `n' Roll, & Lots of Soul'', "Big Band Sound'', "All that Jazz & Some Socca'', and finally, "Christmas in the Park''.

Mr. Garcia stressed that although the `95 concerts will continue to feature both local and international talent, this year a greater emphasis has been placed on local talent recruitment. All accomplished musicians and entertainers in Bermuda are invited to take part in the concert series by simply filling out an entry form available at any Bank of Butterfield or the Corporation of Hamilton.

A selection committee will then choose participants based on accomplishments within the entertainment industry, as well as to pertinence to the concert theme. The first concert of the year, "Strictly Gospel'', will be held on Sunday, April 9 from 5 to 7.30 p.m. Special highlights for the children will include free balloons and a colouring contest, with prizes for the best colourings. The concert series runs from April to October, with a special Christmas addition in December. "The Bank of Butterfield is proud to be involved in this unique concert series which brings together such a great selection of our community,'' said Mr. Garcia.
