Police appeal for witnesses to Tuesday?s stabbing

Police have revealed more details of Tuesday night?s gang clash in Devonshire which left a man needing hospital treatment after being stabbed in the arm.

Police said officers attended hospital at 8.30 p.m. following a reported assault near the junction of Store Lane and Roberts Avenue in Devonshire.

The victim, an 18-year-old Devonshire man, said he was on Friswells Hill in Devonshire with other individuals when two young men approached him brandishing bladed weapons.

The Devonshire man and the other individuals chased the suspects off the hill and on to Roberts Avenue.

At this time one of the suspects, a 15-year-old from St. George?s, stabbed the victim in his right arm. Both suspects then fled the scene heading towards Palmetto Road.

The 18-year-old was taken by a member of the public to the hospital on a motorcycle, where he was treated for a laceration to his right arm.

A 15-year-old young man from Pembroke was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident.
