Breaking News: 23-year-old man dies after crash

A 23-year-old man has died in a road accident — the second fatality on the Island’s roads this year.

According to Police details of the accident are still unclear, but it appears that at 11.40 p.m. yesterday, a bike and a car collided in the area of Somerset Road and Scaur Hill Drive, in Sandys parish.

A Police spokesman said: “As a result the rider of the motorcycle, a 23-year-old Sandys parish man, received multiple injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by an on call physician at 2.33 a.m. today.

“Inquiries into this incident are underway. No further information will be released until the next of kin has been notified.”

Earlier this year Earl Ingemann, 21, died after a crash on Kindley Field Road.
