The James Partnership has appointed Bermudian Tammy Barclay as executive recruitment consultant.

Ms Barclay, who will report to the company's president Britt Reiss, worked in recruiting and other human resource positions for high-profile Bermuda-based companies Marriott Castle Harbour Resort, Ernst & Young and Ace Ltd. Insurance for a total of more than a decade.

She then spent more than a year in Italy learning the language and enjoying the culture, before returning to work in her homeland. "I am delighted to be back and working with The James Partnership," said Ms Barclay. "The James Partnership is a dynamic and well-respected firm and I am looking forward to applying my experiences to my new role." Ms Reiss said: "She brings not only a solid background in recruiting but also a fresh and energetic attitude."

In addition to her work experience and travelling, she began working with the Women's Resource Centre in 1994, wrote for a website aimed at visitors and newcomers to the Island.
