The season finished gently rather than going out with a bang as there was only just enough breeze to move the boats along before the start.

And as the day unfolded the wind barely increased above eight knots.

Among those competing in the IMS class were Monkeyshines (John Thompson), Silver Spur (Ed Faries), Monterey (Les Crane), Tsunami and Fat Tuesday (Bill Williams).

In the Cruising Division were Cranberry (Will Weber), Lullaby and Swift of Paget (Tom Wadson).

All the boats enjoyed a good start as they headed out of the harbour to the first mark.

And racing remained close with all finishers crossing the line within 15 minutes of Tsunami .

A skippers' lunch will take place at 1.00 p.m. tomorrow at the RHADC during which the racing schedule for 1999 will be discussed as well as a revival of the Summer Series.
