Dill charged with attempted murder
has appeared in court.
David Anthony Eugene Dill, of no fixed abode, was handcuffed to Police officers as he made a brief appearance in Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He is accused of seven indictable offences in relation to an attack on Dafydd Hermann-Smith and his wife Julia Lopez Fernandez, which occurred at their Second Avenue, Pembroke home.
Mr. Hermann-Smith, 49, is still in hospital recovering from the incident, which happened last Thursday. He is described as stable on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Dill, 30, is charged with attempted murder of Dafydd Hermann-Smith, being armed with a knife attempting to rob Mr. Hermann-Smith, breaking and entering, and with intent to cause grievous bodily harm unlawfully wounded the same man.
In addition he is charged with unlawfully wounding Julia Lopez Fernandez, stealing and putting the couple in bodily fear, and stealing a Suzuki motorcycle.
Dill, represented by Elizabeth Christopher, made no application for bail and was remanded in custody by Senior Magistrate Will Francis until May 4 for mention.
