Teenager charged with stabbing Police officer
charged with wounding veteran Police officer Sgt. Ron Beech.
Kamal J. Trott was not required to enter a plea as the six charges against him were indictable.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis charged Trott with the unlawful wounding of a Police officer on the early morning of September 15.
He was also charged with unlawfully wound Sgt. Beech with intent to do grievous bodily harm, assaulting Sgt. Beech while he was acting in the execution of his duty, possessing an offensive weapon namely a knife, escaping lawful custody, and driving a vehicle on Dundonald Street, Court Street, Angle Street and Ewing Street in a manner dangerous to the public.
Mr. Larry Scott, representing Trott, did not make any application for bail and the case will be mentioned in Plea Court on October 2.
Sgt. Beech was listed in stable condition in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital yesterday.
