And the pictures of Frederick William Thomas were entered as evidence yesterday as the trial of his alleged attacker, Shannon Tucker, 20, of Broken Hill Lane, continued in Magistrates' Court.

The Smith's man has pleaded not guilty to using threatening words, causing grievous bodily harm and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon -- a bottle and a boat engine part -- on October 24 in Devil's Hole.

Marico Thomas told the court he was at work that night when his father called him on a his cellular phone.

He said he went to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he found his father lying in the emergency room with blood covering his head, neck and shoulders.

Thomas said he took the pictures of his father's injuries so he could show the condition he was in.

Under cross-examination from Tucker's lawyer, Richard Hector, Thomas said the photographs were an accurate representation of his father's injuries.

P.c. Milton Douglas testified he arrested Tucker at the Customs area of the Bermuda International Airport on November 13.

He said Tucker was returning from a remote controlled power boat race in New York and was in such bad health he had to be taken to the hospital.

P.C. Douglas said Tucker was complaining of chest pains and was sweating profusely.

In a Police statement read out in court yesterday, Tucker said he was talking to a friend outside the Harrington Sound Workmen's Club when Fred Thomas drove by in his van.

He told Police that Thomas turned the van around, stopped it and walked over to where some people were sitting outside the club, surrounded by beer bottles and other litter.

Tucker said Thomas asked the people to pick the bottles up and then grabbed him by the arm and shouted at him.

He said he pushed Thomas away but Thomas hit him in the chest and jaw. Tucker tried to run, he said.

Tucker told Police the people sitting outside the club started to throw things at Thomas including parts to his boat -- one of which struck Thomas on the head.

Thomas picked the part up, got in his van and drove away -- nearly running him over in the process -- Tucker continued in his statement of Police.

Fred Thomas has testified he stopped outside the club to ask the people sitting outside it to pick up the bottles.

He said Tucker became abusive, spat at him twice and punched him.

While he walked away, continued Thomas, Tucker hit him from behind, threw a bottle at him and "clubbed'' him with a metal object.

He said he managed to escape and headed for the hospital calling his son on the way.

Nine months after being attacked, the former middleweight boxing champion said he still suffers from dizziness and memory loss and has been forced to seek help from two overseas doctors.
