The man -- who cannot be named for legal reasons -- is accused of assaulting his then-girlfriend, causing her bodily harm on June 23 and some time between June 23 and 27 depriving her of her personal liberty.
He has also been charged with grievous bodily harm and sexual assault on August 15.
Crown counsel Philip Storr objected to bail due to the seriousness of the assaults and to the likelihood that he would commit another offence.
The defendant's lawyer, Marc Telemaque, pointed out the woman, who was living with him at the time, has moved out.
But Senior Magistrate Will Francis voiced concern for the woman's safety and remanded the man in custody.
