Deadline for scholarship applications extended
The Ministry of Education has extended the deadline for its scholarship applications until April 26 because of Covid-19.
Diallo Rabain, the Minister of Education, said: "It is of paramount importance that our students can succeed in following their dreams. We understand that these are challenging times globally, however pursuing your passion and seeking higher education is always worth the journey travelled.
“Recognising the effects of Covid, as we did last year, the decision to extend the scholarships and awards deadline was made and first announced at the end of March. We felt is prudent at this time to remind applicants of the impending deadline to give everyone the greatest opportunity to apply.”
A message on the Bermuda Scholarships website says: “Due to continuing Covid issues, it is recognised that students may be struggling with preparing profiles and submitting scholarship applications on a timely basis.
“Award providers … want to see students succeed and have extended their scholarship deadlines. You are encouraged to continue the process of completing your profile and submitting applications to awards you are eligible for.”
The scholarships available are: The Bermuda Government Scholarships; The Teacher Education Awards; The Non-Traditional Student Awards; The Minister’s Achievement Scholarships; The Minister’s Exceptional Student Awards; The Minister’s Applied Science Scholarships; The Minister’s Technical and Vocational Awards; The Minister’s Bermuda College Book Awards; The Further Education Award.
