MPs are set to discuss the final changes in law to implement the new harmonised tariff system, with the second reading of the Customs Tariff Amendment (No. 2).

Also on the agenda are the Government Fees Amendment (No. 2) Regulations which makes provision for Segregated Accounts companies to pay $250 to be registered with Government.

An amendment of the Proceeds of Crime act will allow for money seized under a confiscation order or forfeited by a court under the Misuse of Drugs act to be put in a fund.

That fund would then be used in the fight against drug trafficking and use.

The Proceeds of Crime Amendment also restricts the length of time the money must be brought to Bermuda to three years.

New fees for local and international mail under the Post Office Amendment Regulations are also to be discussed as are the extension of dental health coverage to Government workers under the Government Employees (Health Insurance) Amendment.

The Merchant Shipping (Fees) amendment will increase the amount one needs to pay for a discharge book to $20.

Also listed on the Orders of the Day is a "take note'' motion for debate on the International Business in Bermuda.

Introduced on December 19, 1999, if it is not discussed today, the motion would be nearly a year old when the House reconvenes in November.
