Amphitheatre plan for Riddell’s Bay
An outdoor, open air amphitheatre could be erected in Riddell’s Bay, according to a recent planning application.
The amphitheatre, earmarked for an empty area on the former golf course, would features four rows of concrete pads with solar light fixtures surrounding an open stage area.
The application also proposes a built-up rotunda and look out area with a sundial.
The proposal is part of the Riddell’s Bay Gardens and Nature Reserve project launched by Castile Holdings, who bought the Warwick property after Riddell's Bay Golf and Country Club closed in March 2016 after nearly a century in operation.
A special development order for Riddell’s Bay was approved in Parliament last year, which gave permission for the construction of up to 18 homes on 23 acres of the former golf course.
But the project also converted 64 acres of the property into conservation areas including nature reserve, open space reserve, recreationally zoned land and wetland reserve.
Landscaping work on the project has already begun with invasive plans being removed and replaced with native trees.
