PLP goes on the road

The Progressive Labour Party has hit the road to discuss issues surrounding ageing.On Monday night Acting Health Minister Walter Lister spoke to around 50 party members about caring for the aged at Vernon Temple AME Church Hall while Premier Alex Scott wrapped up.

On Monday night Acting Health Minister Walter Lister spoke to around 50 party members about caring for the aged at Vernon Temple AME Church Hall while Premier Alex Scott wrapped up.

Age Concern's Dr. Melvin Dickinson also spoke said PLP spokesman Scott Simmons.

He said the idea would be repeated next month in the East End and then be moved to Hamilton the following month.

Such information sessions will be a regular fixture and tackle other topics said Mr. Simmons who said ageing was chosen because the party "had to start somewhere".

He said: "It's a significant issue in this country."
