The temperature has failed to reach 68 degrees Fahrenheit on three of the first four days of the year -- entitling guests to discounts at their hotels and at local businesses and sightseeing attractions.
This year, 21 hotels, up from 19 last year, are participating in the plan which started on January 1 -- the only day so far when the temperature exceeded 68 -- and lasts until the end of March.
The hotels include Elbow Beach, Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort, both Princess hotels, The Reefs, Astwood Cove, Mermaid Beach and Rosemont.
The Bermuda Weather Service provides the daily highs, taken at the Airport and printed daily on the front page of the The Royal Gazette .
More than 40 Chamber of Commerce member businesses and other attractions are also participating in the scheme, including the National Trust, Aquarium, and Fort St. Catherine.
The Public Transportation Board bus and ferry system will provide one day passes on the day after for rides to visitors from participating hotels.
The hotel industry has made one major change to the scheme; some hotels in addition to the ten percent discount will also give on the following day a Value Added Bonus, set by the hotel.
There is some good news for visitors hoping for warmer weather and programme participants who are being hit in the pocket: weather forecasters say temperatures should start to rise after tomorrow.
