A law firm has donated $25,000 to help fund the Bermuda Hospitals Board’s vaccination programme.

The money was presented to the board’s charitable foundation this week by Appleby and will be used to pay for staff salaries and administrative costs.

The BHB said it relied on public support to pay for its vaccination clinic, which is expected to cost close to $1 million by the end of next month.

Tim Faries, a managing partner at Appleby, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact in our community.

“We are immensely grateful to all the healthcare workers and everyone involved in helping to keep our island safe – the many doctors, nurses, testing centres, lab technicians, contact tracers, administrators and help centre operators.

“We want to do our part to support the Government of Bermuda’s vaccination programme to help reach herd immunity. We are pleased to support this very worthy cause.”
