An environmental charity has used the pandemic as a chance to clean up and modernise its website.

The Keep Bermuda Beautiful project was launched by Anne Hyde, a former executive director, who said that improvements to the website, kbb.bm, were long overdue.

Ms Hyde explained that the pandemic had slowed the charity’s cleanups and work in schools, so it was decided use the time to revamp the website to boost the charity’s profile.

She said: “Everyone knows that KBB is famous for cleanups, but most people may not know all the other great things, like providing litter lessons, conducting research on ocean plastics, and sharing in a wide network of partnerships.

“We may be a small environmental non-profit but we manage to have a big impact across the whole island.”

Stefan Smith, the KBB board president, added: “We wanted to have a clean and modern website with improved functionality.

“The new site is easy to navigate, provides lots of fun facts and clear information on the various ways people can get involved.”

KBB members can also now make donations online to support the charity.

Ms Hyde, who became a member of the charity’s board of directors after she stepped down last year, said the new website built by Stephan Johnstone at SJD World had exceeded expectations.
