Government bursary deadline extended

The deadline for applicants for Government bursaries have has been extended until May 14, a spokeswoman said today.

The Public Service Bursary Awards Scheme offers funding to Bermudians seeking postsecondary education for a discipline that would meet the future needs of Government departments.

The Public Service Commission selects applicants enrolled in courses at a university or college.

The award offer $20,000 a year for no more than five years and is not expected to cover all student expenses.

Applicants must be Bermudian, completed at least five years of schooling in Bermuda and be aged no older than 40 at the time of application.

Applicants must also be enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s degree programme, plan to join the public service after graduating and accepted or enrolled in courses suitable for a job in the public service.

Only fully completed applications that specify the area of study and received by the deadline will be accepted.

Forms must be sent to bursary@gov.bm no later than 4.45pm on May 14.
