By-election date set

A by-election date for the Sandys South constituency has been set for November 18, Government House announced this morning.
October 28 has been designated nomination day for Constituency 33, in the aftermath of last week’s resignation of the incumbent Independent MP Terry Lister.
According to a writ issued today by Governor George Fergusson under the Parliamentary election Act 1978, polling will take place on November 18 — shortly after the opening of the next parliamentary session.
The election room will in the Somers Isles Lodge.
