Senior civil servants move after shuffle
After a Cabinet shake up senior civil service officials also saw some changes.
Yesterday Government announced a change in Permanent Secretaries which saw Robert Horton end a long stint in Labour and Immigration by moving with his Minister Derrick Burgess to Works and Engineering. He is replaced by Marva O'Brien, formerly Permanent Secretary of Public Safety and Housing.
As a result of Mr. Horton's move, Derrick Binns, former Permanent Secretary of Works, becomes Assistant Cabinet Secretary (Policy).
And former Education Permanent Secretary Rosemary Tyrell was named as the new P.S. for the Attorney General's chambers.
The position no longer covers the judiciary, legislature and the Department of Public Prosecution — the Premier has taken responsibility of those departments.
Mrs. Tyrrell will be responsible for the AG's Chambers.
