A man was arrested outside a liquor store on Friday after a fight that involved a machete.

A police spokesman said officers were alerted to men fighting outside Hayward’s on Middle Road, Warwick, at about 2.30pm and that a machete had been brandished.

Police attended and a 34-year-old man was taken into custody.

The spokesman was unable to confirm if anyone had been injured. He added that an investigation into the incident continued.
