Bermudian Cathy Albright has been promoted to the position of director of catering at the Fairmont Southampton.In this position Ms Albright will manage local weddings and social events. She will also assist with the development and implementation of a catering sales and marketing plans and manage the overall direction and coordination for events and banquets.“It is a pleasure to add to our leadership team a member with the vast array of experience and tremendous talent possessed by Cathy Albright,” said Shelley Meszoly, regional director of sales and marketing.“Cathy’s years of working in various roles throughout the tourism industry and her commitment to outstanding customer service will make her a tremendous asset to the Fairmont Southampton.”Ms Albright began her career with The Southampton Princess in 1994 as a group accountant and transferred to The Hamilton Princess in 1998 to serve as Convention Manager.In 1999, Ms. Albright moved to the Elbow Beach Hotel where she spent 11 years in positions including senior manager, sales and conference services and director of conference services and corporate sales. She re-joined the Fairmont Southampton last year as operations manager for Discover Bermuda.Ms Albright has been recognised by her peers and community as the Elbow Beach Manager of the Year in 2000 and by The Visitor Industry Partnership as Meeting Planner of the Year in 2004
