DRIVER HAD TOO MUCH TO DRINK CTS Driver had too much to drink A 41-year-old Paget man was fined $400 in Magistrates' Court yesterday after admitting impaired driving.
Prosecuting Sgt. Peter Giles told the Court that around noon on July 21 Police saw a motor car, driven by Wendell E. Scraders, of Middle Road, traveling slowly along King Street in Hamilton.
"He failed to stop at the stop sign,'' said Sgt. Giles. "Police followed him and saw him stop in the middle of Front Street.
"He then pulled his car over to the side, parked and began walking away from the vehicle.'' Police noticed Scraders' eyes were red and his face was flushed.
A breathalyser test showed Scraders had 199 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Scraders admitted he had "too much to drink''.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis also banned Scraders from driving all motor vehicles for a year.
DEALER HAD TOO MUCH TO DRINK CTS Dealer had too much to drink A social inquiry report will be conducted on a 21-year-old St. George's man who was arrested while selling cannabis.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis ordered the report on Marlon Outerbridge who pleaded guilty on Tuesday to possessing 7.83 grams of cannabis intended for supply.
Outerbridge's lawyer Mr. Philip Perinchief asked for the report following his guilty plea.
Sgt. Peter Giles, prosecuting, said Police spotted Outerbridge on Water Street, St. George's March 28 at 9.05 p.m. conducting what looked like a drugs transaction with another man.
"When Police approached Outerbridge, they saw him drop a white plastic bag on the ground,'' Sgt. Giles said.
He said Police found 24 envelopes of cannabis in the bag.
"When questioning Outerbridge, he told Police he had already sold one envelope for $25,'' he said. "The man that he was talking to had wanted to buy two envelopes.'' Mr. Francis ordered the social inquiry report for August 25 and set bail for Outerbridge at $1,000.

Victoria Bennett, of Georgia, admitted on Tuesday to possessing cannabis and drug equipment.
Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy told the Court that at 6 p.m. on July 28 Bennett arrived at the Civil Air Terminal and was searched.
Cannabis weighing .49 grams and cigarette papers were found in her purse.
