SRS promotes Kirk Cyrus
Strategic Risk Solutions, the independent insurance company managers with an operation in Bermuda, has promoted Kirk Cyrus to the position of chairman of the board of Strategic Risk Solutions (Barbados) Ltd.
Mr Cyrus, who is managing director of SRS in Barbados, takes on the additional role to replace Chris Evans, who has stepped down.
Brady Young, chief executive officer of SRS, said: “During the past year, Kirk has proven himself to be a key member of our executive management structure. This well-deserved promotion is a natural next step as we continue to execute our strategy of expanding our customer base and geographic reach as we have done recently in other jurisdictions.
“In welcoming Kirk to his new role, we extend our sincere appreciation to Chris, who has played an integral role in developing a great operation in Barbados, as well as a stellar team and client list. We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
Born in Barbados, Mr Cyrus began his insurance management career in Barbados in the late 1990s. He holds a first-class honours degree in computer science from the University of the West Indies, Barbados, and is a fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of England and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados.
The company said Mr Cyrus is well-known and respected in the insurance sector in Barbados. He serves on the insurance committee of the Barbados International Business Association and is a regular contributing writer, both locally and internationally, on insurance and risk considerations for business owners.
In addition to Bermuda and Barbados, SRS has operations in the United States, Europe, Grand Cayman, Guernsey and South Africa.
