Reggie Lambe made his first appearance for Bristol Rovers last night since joining them on loan from Ipswich Town for the rest of the season.The 20-year-old winger came on as a 62nd minute substitute in Rovers’ 2-2 draw at home against high flying Peterborough United, who were reduced to ten men in the first half.Jo Kuffour gave Rovers an early lead from inside the six-yard box only for Byron Anthony to head into his own net to draw the visitors level.Posh defender Mark Little was sent off before half-time for a second booking. United took the lead after the break when George Boyd finished well from Craig Mackail-Smith’s pass, but Hughes’ diving header gave Rovers a point.Rovers’ caretaker manager Stewart Campbell said he was delighted to sign Lambe on loan on Thursday: “He is a right-sided midfielder who is an exciting prospect.“He has played a couple of times for Ipswich’s first team, as well as representing his country nine times.“He is very quick and I am looking forward to working with him. He goes straight into the squad for tomorrow night’s game (at Peterborough).“I am sure the supporters will be excited by his talent and give him a warm welcome.”Lambe, whose Town contract runs out in the summer, has made four appearances for the Championship club this season.Town boss Paul Jewell has been looking to get his first and second-year pros out on loan for the remaining weeks of the season. Relegation threatened Rovers remain in 22nd position in the League One table.n Bermuda international Nahki Wells was an unused substitute in Carlisle United’s 2-1 defeat away at Brentford last night.Debutant Jeffrey Schlupp scored twice to help Brentford to victory over Carlisle in a dress rehearsal of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.Schlupp gave the hosts the lead in the second period from 12 yards out and got the second from close range after a goalmouth scramble. Lubomir Michalik free-kick served merely as a consolation for Carlisle.
