The 22-year-old, of Hook and Ladder Lane in Sandys, pleaded guilty in the monthly arraignment session in Supreme Court to causing the death of her sister Racquel by riding dangerously.

The tragedy took place on December 10, 1998, when Basden tried to overtake in morning rush- hour traffic on Somerset Road.

Her sister Racquel was a pillion passenger on her scooter and suffered massive internal injuries when the bike collided with a truck travelling in the same direction.

Puisne Judge Norma Wade-Miller ordered a social inquiry report and adjourned sentencing to June 9.
