Belco sues laundry operator
Raymond Davis, who is understood to be in the region of $10,000 in arrears.
The unsettled accounts are a result of activity at Mr. Davis' Paget and West End Laundries, which also includes an operation at Ord Road.
But Mr. Davis told The Royal Gazette the writ was misdirected.
"It looks like they're jockeying for some kind of position; they seem to think I'm a creditor. In reality though, the companies are limited liability companies,'' he said, adding the debts would be settled.
Mr. Davis' debt problems surfaced last month when he was detained in Magistrates' Court over his civil debt. At that time he said he owed about $2 million.
At that time Mr. Davis -- who recently took over Hamilton Valcleaners and Paget Dry Cleaners from businessman Steve Thomson -- said he was working on a business plan to get his laundry empire back on track.
That plan is still in place but people are going to have to be patient, he said yesterday. "Everyone will be paid.'' BUSINESS BUC
